How can I reset the file numbering on my Coolpix?
Pictures are identified by file names with three parts: a four-letter identifier, a four-digit file number assigned automatically by the camera in ascending order, and a three-letter extension (e.g. “DSC0001.JPG”). There are basically two ways to set the file numbering order back to 0001: • Selecting Reset All (after formatting the memory/memory card), • or for Coolpix cameras with Seq. Numbering choose Reset.
