First, save a backup copy of your Word document. Damaged field codes can be repaired by unformatting, removing stray field codes, and reformatting the document. To do so, follow these instructions: 1. Choose the “Tools > EndNote Web > Unformat Citations” command, which will remove the reference list and revert the citations. 2. Press [Ctrl]+A on the keyboard to highlight everything. 3. Press [Ctrl]+6 (above the “T” and “Y” key) to remove any additional hidden field codes. 4. Press [Ctrl]+C to copy the highlighted text. 5. Open a new document and press [Ctrl]+V to paste. 6. You should now be able to Format Bibliography in order to format your citations and regenerate the field codes.
