How Can I Remove Startup Programs in My Computer That Were Installed by the Manufacturer?

When a computer is built by a manufacturer, various programs are often added to the operating system, such as ISP trial programs, security programs or various proprietary programs developed by the computer manufacturer. If you want to prevent these products from automatically starting when the computer boots up, you can do so by modifying the Startup list in the Windows Configuration utility. Click the “Start” button. If you are running Windows XP, click “Run,” type “msconfig,” and hit the “Enter” key. If you are running Vista or Windows 7, enter “msconfig” into the “Search” box and click on the “msconfig.exe” program that appears in the results. Click the “Startup” tab to bring up a list of programs and services that start when the computer starts. Uncheck the check box next to each entry that you don’t want to start with the computer. You can browse through the list using the scroll bar to find the entry for each program and service that the manufacturer installed on your computer. C
