It could be the type of pad you are using that is the problem. The ultra thin kind are extra-absorbent, and so your vaginal area might be getting dried out, or irritated by those particular fibers, especially on those final days when discharge isn’t heavy. I don’t know if Desitin would be good or not, but I think you should first try changing the type of pad before using Desitin–you don’t want to upset the flora of the area. Plus, Desitin is designed to treat skin that is irritated because wet from wet diaper, while you might be more irritated due to dryness.
