Engage yourself in any activity you feel you can work to gain control of. I don’t think releasing anger is just about expressing yourself violently through sports or physical exertion, but achieving a balance between things that beat you down in life (maybe school, home life, etc.) and things that make you feel on top (maybe a sport, a project, etc.) If you make time for things you are happy about, it puts your anger in perspective. Sometimes anger can just be amplified by your current situation in life and finding the root of that anger and then eliminating it or balancing it out would be more helpful than just beating up a punching bag or joining a physically competitive sport.
