How can I reduce printing costs and expedite completion time?
• Format all booklet documents in Printer Spreads • Avoid linked text boxes • Edit graphics in the program in which they were created • When possible, use adobe fonts (True Type and third party fonts can be unreliable when translated by a RIP) • Avoid using stylized or menu fonts (These features are designed for laser printers and may not output correctly to film) • Convert fonts in graphic files to outlines or paths • Prepare document with the press sheet size in mind (8.5 x 11 or 11 x 17) • If a job has a landscape orientation on one side and a portrait orientation on the other, specify the proper orientation for two-sided printing • Check “Picture Usage” utility in Quark Express to determine if any images have been modified or are missing before submitting the disk • Allow a small border on all four sides • Include designer’s name and phone number in case there are problems or questions
