You can use Netscape to read your e-mail and newsgroup messages on a UNIX machine and/or PC (at home). From the Netscape menu bar, select Edit -> Preferences -> Little triangle to the left of Mail & Newsgroups -> Identity and fill in your name and e-mail address. The other fields are optional. Next, select Edit -> Preferences -> Little triangle to the left of Mail & Newsgroups -> Mail Servers -> Add and fill in your mail server, For the MATH environment: • mail.student.math.uwaterloo.ca, or • mail.math.uwaterloo.ca For the CS environment: • mail.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca, or • mail.cs.uwaterloo.ca To modify information for a server, select the name and click Edit. Choose POP as Server Type. If you like to leave your messages on the server after retrieval, then click POP on the Mail Server Properties panel and check Leave message on server. If you do not check this, your mail (host:/var/mail/your_userid) will be deleted after you read mail on a machine by running Netscape. Click OK. Then
