How can I prevent Nokia Maps establishing an online connection to the map server to avoid additional data transfer costs?

Even when map data has been preloaded on your memory card or internal device memory, if you have an active data network connection (Wi-Fi or mobile internet) the application will still automatically access the server by default to optimise your experience of Nokia Maps. You can avoid downloading data and costs related to data transfer by turning off the network connections in the network settings (go to Options > Settings > Network > Network Usage > Never).
