How can i prevent my puppies from contracting CANINE PARVOVIRUS.?
Like a child, every puppy has to go through his vaccinations that first year & PARVOVIRUS is one of those vaccines for puppies. Keep your puppy out of the grass until he has completed his shots & gone through that stage. After that 1st year you still have to take your puppy back every year for rabies & whatever other shot your vet says. You’ll get a notice in the mail for what shots your dog is due for.
First off, parvo is a virus, not a bacteria-just properly educating you. Secondly, it affects puppies more than adult dogs-if an adult dog has been vaccinated, then they usually don’t have any issues with it. Once you treat the area, he needs a thorough bath. Ok. Get some protective gloves before you begin. Bleach EVERYTHING you have. Crates, cage pans, food/water bowls (if they’re cheapies, throw them away and get new ones-if metal, bleach them and rinse them out real good), bedding (wash rugs, blankets, anything you can in bleach water in the washer)-go over it with bleach and SCRUB thoroughly. Throw away any old toys if they can’t be soaked in a bucket of warm bleachwater or be washed in the washing machine in bleach. Spray your premises down with slightly diluted bleach on any outside places-your steps,sidewalks, even the yard. You’ve gotta scrub everywhere the pups were and where their mom has been.
