How can I obtain cabbage seeds?
If you mean raising the seed on your own, cabbage goes to seed their second year. Some types you may have to cut an “X” on the head for it to produce a stalk and for it to flower. Some will flower from the ‘stump’ which is left from removing the edible parts. The stalks should not be cut until they begin to shed the seed, which turns black. The entire plant should be cut and stored until dry, when the seed can be easily threshed, cleaned, dried and then stored. Although some people say it is easier to just buy a packet of cabbage seeds, many of them are hybrid which will not come true to the parent plant the second generation, if they even germinate.
