How can i motivate myself to revise?
I struggle to motivate myself too. I find that the easiest way is to sit in a room without any distractions (i use the dining room). Make sure you have everything that you need so you don’t have to break off to get anything. Have a glass of water by you (It helps to wake your brain up). I also find that chocolate helps, I tend to have a small piece after every 2-5 pages. I tend to stick to a strict timetable. 45mins in the morning then a 1/2 hour break then another 45mins then an hour off for lunch then an hour then have the rest of the day off. Make sure that you go outside and get some fresh air during your breaks. Good Luck!
There’s nothing wrong with working in short bursts so long as you accomplish something in those short sessions. Plan your paper so you have to do as little true revision as possible. Revision is literally re-visioning. When you revise you deal with your thesis and organization. If you prepare a good vision of your paper to begin with, you won’t have to do a lot of work to make the paper coherent later. Edit in short bursts. Editing means correcting your errors in grammar, spelling, etc. The best way to edit is to work in short sessions, just as you are doing now, but concentrate on just one error.
