How can I make the viewfinder magnification (ZOOM) stick?

The viewfinder magnification can be made to stick by pushing the EXP button while holding down the ZOOM button. As long as magnification is on, a magnifying glass icon will appear in the lower part of the viewfinder image. Push the ZOOM button again to revert back to an unmagnified image.
