How can I make snacks more healthy and fun for my kids?
My kids are 3, 5, and 6 and since they are close in age but yet hungry at different times of the day I usually make a snack tray after breakfast like around mid morning/before noon I might make turkey and cheese sandwiches cut in triangles, I’ll cut up some grapes, cheese cubes, whole wheat crackers, carrots and some ranch dressing, even some peanut butter crackers or apples with peanut butter, my 3 year old son loves trees (broccoli) with ranch or just plain, pretzels, orange slices, obviously not all in one day but these are just some good healthy snacks that my kids enjoy. Usually the favorites get eaten up quickly and when they get hungry then they eat the rest. They know they don’t get anything else until what’s there is gone. They learned that at around age 1 1/2 – 2 1/2 years old so it’s not even an issue now. Of course I don’t make them food that they absolutely don’t like but they are definitely not picky eaters. I hope this helps you out a bit.
