Peat comes from endangered peat bogs, an irreplaceable natural habitat under threat from over-extraction, and all gardeners need to find alternatives, of which there are now plenty. Get a load of topsoil and a good load of stable manure and dig it in well, then you’ll get lovely vegetables. good luck!
