How can i make my stretch marks fade?
Stretch marks are caused by tears and damage of the collagen fibers in the skin as deep as the reticular dermis. Topical creams are not capable of penetrating skin to the depth required to heal stretch marks, but there are lasers available that can reach proper therapeutic depths that have been shown to stimulate collagen growth and remodeling, such as the Palomar Starlux 1540 and Fraxel re:store. However, it is important to note that stimulation and remodeling of collagen is not an overnight process, and that results may take up to 2 months to appear after a treatment. Multiple treatments may also be required to see sufficient textural improvement.
