How can i make my Parrot stop biting and make him more outgoing?
First of all you should never buy a parrot and stick it in a cage and rarely let it out, your parrot was hand reared and should have been handled on a regular basis from the day you got him home. No wonder he is starting to bite as he has been used to humans as he was hand reared by one, him being as good as a parent. As for punishment you should never get angry with him as he will sense that and you will never do anything, even raising your voice is seen as aggression. When you go to pick him up out of the cage keep all you fingers together, don’t have the index finger out and then gently put your hand right under his breast and touching him say “up” when you put him back offer him to the perch and him facing it and keeping him slightly below the perch making him step up saying “down” short to the point commands are best then they don’t get confused You need to start from square 1 and try to get him to trust you again, get him out of his cage once or twice a day, have you got a parrot
