Only male crickets can chirp. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket_(in… Here are some types of cricket chirps– 1) The calling song attracts females and repels other males–very loud loud. 2) The courting song is used when a female cricket is near–quiet, and is a very quiet song. Or make it warmer in the house.
