How can i make a REAL sword?
A “samurai sword” — a katana — is not just a shaped piece of metal. To make a sword worthy of that name you would need a metal forge: A superhot flame in which to soften good quality steel, an anvil or other hard metal object capable of taking tremendous punishment, a hammer, and tongs. (You don’t pick up red hot metal barehanded, and good gauntlets, a heavy faced shield, a heat-proof/fire-proof apron, safety boots, and a good fire extinguisher are all things you better have.) Next, get a piece of steel, one inch by one inch by 30 inches. By “good” I mean steel that has been tested to have a high carbon content, high chromium content, and no other impurities. Heat a section of the steel, a section about two inches long, red hot. Once a section gets red hot, put it over the anvil and pound on it with the hammer until you have a section some three inches long.
