How can I make a plain text version from a HTML file?
You can edit out the HTML by hand, of course, but there are several easier ways to convert. You can view the HTML in a browser, Select All text, and just Copy and Paste into your editor. This is easiest, but doesn’t handle formatting like tables very well. You can use the Lynx [P.1] browser to convert your text with the command lynx -dump myfile.html > myfile.txt Bruce Guthrie’s HTMSTRIP for MS-DOS [P.1] is very configurable.
