How can I make a bell curve?

The base (or spread/range) of a Bell curve is divided into equal values (highest score to lowest score) by the number of students represented in the test. If the score range is from 48 to 97 then the range (49) is divided by the number of student scores expressed in the range, say 26. Dividing 49 by 26 equal divisions gives you the incremental value of each division. Plot the bell curve base line into these equal numbers (49/26) and graph the scores according to the value of the line. Another way is to do the same calculations only have the Bell curve divided into 100 equal lines. The student grade plot would then show their score representation as against ALL posible values one could receive on the test (0-100) wereas the first curve would show their performance as against only those taking that particular test. EDIT: A Bell curves values are static. The values you place unde it are then grouped for repeatablity and the values are then judged against the arbitrary value of the Bell cu

You don’t make a bell curve. The data makes the bell curve. When you plot it, it forms a bell. So, you are looking at it wrong. But if you take the data, and enter it into Excel and plot the data, it may or may not make a bell curve. If everyone makes the same grade, you have a straight line. If half the kids have one grade and the other have a different grade, you have a step graph. Get the point?
