How can I lower the pressure in my pool filter?

Ok it sounds possible that the sand may have partially solidified in your filter – if it’s a sand filter. That being the case switch everything off and turn all the pool isolation valves to off. Remove the top from the sand filter and stir the sand with your hands – be very careful there are rigid fingers inside the sand filter, generally around the bottom, take care not to break these off. Give the sand a good stir, even use a water jet or pressure washer to stir it all up. Then put the top back on – open all the valves – turn the selector-multiport valve to backwash, switch the system on and backwash the filter until the water is clear – same as normal backwash. When clear return pool to normal operating position – it should be ok now.
