How can I know if a cashier check is real?
Whatever you do, do NOT cash the check and give somebody else the money until you wait a couple of weeks to make sure it really cleared. The scammers will send you a check for “too much” and ask for a refund of the difference. Don’t fall for that…the bank may honor the check at first, but come after you later when it is found to be fraudulent.
