How can I keep my cheap jewelry from smelling after while?

You probably keep everything in the basket because it’s easy or you like the way it looks. I’m the same way. Your pieces may be changing due to contact with each other, contact with the skin, or they’re just breaking down. So, to keep my jewelry easily accessible but away from the other pieces, I took a piece of wood, covered it with pictures I like or paint it some weird way, hammer in a few nails or add vintage door knobs from the antique store across the front, hang it on the wall and viola! A perfect place to showcase your jewelry. The nails are great for earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces. If you’re using knobs or something else, try and get some small enough that you can hang stuff over them. It makes a really neat display and you’ll always know where everything is. I would avoid, however, doing this with sterling silver because it will oxidize and tarnish in exposed air. Always keep silver tucked away (ziplock bags are best). I would also suggest wiping down pieces quickly
