My Visioneer One Touch 8700 usb scanner came with an install CD. I installed mine under Windows XP with no problem. When the Found Hardware Wizard pops up, you need to cancel it, otherwise Windows will install its own driver for the scanner, which will screw everything up. You then put in the install CD, and then click install, your system will auto-detect which driver to install. I have even successfully installed Visioneer 8700 on my new pc with Vista on it. If you lost your install CD, you will have to download the driver online.
