Unfortunately, shadowboxing is a majority of the way. Your answer is repetition, repetition, and more repetition. The more you practice a certain move or punch, the better it will be, power-wise and speed wise. That’s what shadowboxing (when taken seriously) is. Proper body mechanics, repetition, and shadowboxing, that is your answer. You’ll need to look up how to properly throw certain punches, because you will not want to develop bad habits or bad form. The rule of thumb is that a punch comes from your foot pushing off the floor, and your torso putting the weight into it. Your arms are simply the deliverers of the power, it doesn’t really matter how strong or muscle-built they are (although the more you punch, the more muscle will be built in them). But don’t get so carried away on speed because if you train purely for speed, your power will become weaker. You should punch the heavy bag with about 1/3 as many punches than you throw shadowboxing.
