I realize you’ve got some good tips here already, but I just thought I might add a few more things in a different way in case they are of any extra use. Firstly, and you may already, if you do not play for a team or club then I think it’s a good idea to join one. Train hard and regularly and play in as many matches as possible. The more you play the better you will get. If this isn’t possible then try to get together with friends regularly just to get practicing!
