To increase internet download speed
* Check to see if faster internet connections are in your area:
          Fiber optic and cable internet tend to be faster than DSL and dial-Up.
*Do some basic maintenance on your PC:
     a scan disk, a virus scan, a malware scan, and clear your recycle bin.Delete old files and temporary files.
* Reset Your Modem
    Sometimes switching OFF and ON your modem helps you to speed the internet.
* Optimize your cache or temporary Internet files.
    These files improve your Internet connection performance by not downloading the same file over and over.

After you have tried some of this,try your connection again using Scanmyspeed.com and see if you get improved speed results. If you are not satisfied Call your Internet service provider (ISP) and check whether upgradation of your plan is necessary.

I’d like to clear just one thing up. There is your connection speed and your download speed, both will be different. Your actual download speed is always going to be about an 8th of your connection speed. Its not a reduction in speed its to do with the way they measure connection speed in megabits and downloads in megabytes or kilobytes. Its the difference in bits and bytes You have a 20Meg connection so you should be getting 2.5 Megabytes per second at maximum. This depends on a few factors however. Your actual connection – You won’t always get the full connection speed all the time but you should be getting close to 20Meg but network traffic and where you are connecting to can affect this Other users – if others are using your network using the same connection it will reduce it a little depending on how good your connection is The server you are connecting to – If you are downloading from public share sites like Rapidshare the download speeds are often capped at 1Mb to save bandwidth

What is your question?

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
