How can I improve my cardiovascular fitness quickly?
I agree with Erik here. If you can only do 2.5 mins before you’re bursting then the intensity is too high. Take it down a level. You want to be able to do something that is sustainable for 20-30 minutes at a time. Of course if it feels too easy then you need to take up a little. It will probably be a little difficult finding this balance to start with but persevere and you’ll find a good rate you can tick over at. If you’re legs are not tired it’s probably your lungs that are letting you down. Only time can recondition that. If a brisk but sustained walk is not enough try walking in the hills. Inclines will surely place more of a demand on your breath rate. Also cycling as an alternative. Don’t try and do it all at this early stage. Expecting to go hard and then crashing after a short while will likely demotivate you. Take it easy and build up slowly. Cardiovascular health doesn’t happen over night.
