How can I improve eBLVDs performance / refresh rate?
eBLVD’s speed depends upon several factors: bandwidth, screen resolution, screen content and network infrastructure. Bandwidth – eBLVD senses changes in your screen appearance, compresses the information and sends it to a eBLVD server, which relays the data to each of your participants. Consumer DSL and cable modems have fast download speeds (768 to 1500 kbit/s), but many service providers limit uplink speed to about 100 kbit/s, which can slow eBLVD. Screen resolution – eBLVD sends your entire screen, so reducing its resolution can improve performance. A complete 800×600 screen can be sent about 2.7 times faster than 1280×1024. Screen content – eBLVD sends text and lines quickly. Photos and shaded graphics are sent less efficiently and take longer to transmit. Network Infrastructure – You may want to ask your network administrator to add a simple, secure rule to your company’s firewall policy so eBLVD can run at peak efficiency.
