How can I impress on a second job interview?
Put together some good questions that arise from your first interview. Tell them that you have these questions and would appreciate it if they could answer where they can. Ask about the team you would be working with (how big, what are they like etc) and without giving away anything inappropriate, what the work involves. Don’t be afraid to ask followup questions as that will show that you are engaged and understand what they are talking about. Ask if there is any scope for extending the contract or even becoming a permanent staff member if conditions change and assuming you have done well. Ask them what they are looking for in an contractor and what it was about you that made them call you back. Finally ask them if they can’t take you on, if they have any feedback for future interviews. And relax, you’re more than halfway there. Be as natural as you can be but don’t be overconfident. Be respectful and hold eye contact while you listen to their answers. Good luck!
If you were not able to do this on the first interview, you may want to consider what they are asking for. 1. They want a person who is going to put the job FIRST. a. So, be sure your interest reveals how YOU can be a CREDIT and of SERVICE to the company, and what you can DO to be a better employee! (the reason for this is to avoid sounding like “what can this company do for ME” rather ” what can I do for this company to make it more profitable and more efficient”.) You want to shine, and there are many others NOW vying for every position available….that is a start, and there is more that you can do in presentation, but if you have the smarts and moxy to qualify for the position, then honing accounting skills are not the issue, the company is looking for someone to be an asset to their business. Good luck. Don’t forget to work on an emergency savings account program where you can readily access cash with no penalty…just to be prepared. Check out Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman if you ha
