If you still have Netscape 4 installed, you can use Mozilla Mail’s / Thunderbird’s import function. In Mozilla Mail / Thuderbird, select Tools -> Import. In the Window that opens, select Mail and click on “Next”. In the following Window, select Communicator 4.x and click on “Next”. Mozilla will now look for Netscape 4 profiles from which to import messages. . If you do not have Netscape 4 installed on the same PC, you can simply copy your Netscape 4 Mail folder files (copy, don’t move them in case there are problems) into your Mozilla Mail directory. All your mail folders are represented as files. Copy the files without an extension (i.e. “Inbox” instead of “Inbox.snm”) into your Mozilla Mail folder. Using Windows 2000, that would e.g. be C:\Documents and Settings\[Windows Login Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\[profile name]\[random string].slt\Mail\Inbox.sbd This way, your Netscape Mail folders will be subfolders of “Inbox”.
