How Can I Help My Student With Dysgraphia?
According to an article published in the “Canadian Journal of School Psychology,” developmental dysgraphia is a “disabling condition that interferes with communication and is characterized by poor or illegible handwriting.” Students with dysgraphia typically have great difficulty with handwriting, producing written work that shows problems with fine motor skills and visual discrimination. Helping students with dysgraphia is critical, as this disorder can cause them to fall behind in every area of school in which writing is a requirement.
