How can I help my pupils develop their mental strategies using Primary Maths in Action?
The mental attainment targets are partly addressed within the materials and then additional material is included in a separate Mental Skills Book, which covers levels C, D and E. This title is divided into two sections. The first section provides whole class mental and oral activities and introduces a range of mental calculation strategies. Included in these activities are sample questions at each level so that the same activity can be used in mixed ability classes. The second section of the book provides practice questions divided by level, which can be delivered orally or set as written exercises.
