How can i help my partner whos a heroin addict?
I have been where you are and here is what I recommend: 1) You need to find an alternate place to live, and give him the ultimatum of you or treatment. By treatment I do NOT mean detox. Detox alone is ineffective (as you have seen). I suggest looking for a Salvation Army Rehab Center in your area. This is a 6 month residential program (you will see if he is willing to change, is he willing to do whatever it takes?). 2) I agree with the others, you need to think about you and your baby right now. I suggest going home to your parents so you can have help with your baby. Here is my story: My husband (then boyfriend) got mixed into heroin by his roomate. We moved in together (I did not know he was using) I spent months stressing, trying to figure out what was going on. I finally figured it out and he wanted help and went to medical detox. He left detox after a few days. I am unclear as to how long he lasted w/o using, but within 2 months the drama started again. He did all the things addic
