Make sure you check the frame for square. Or, alternatively, you can lay the old door on top of the new door to ensure that they are both the same angle. Depending on whether the old door is flat or not, you also may be able to transfer all dimensions by simply “tracing” the shape of the old door onto the new one. Make sure to test the fit before cutting all the way to the line, however. Depending on the weight difference, the door may hang slightly different. If you’re using new hinge locations, put the hinges onto the door first, tape a couple of quarters to the top of the door, then set the door into place and wedge it against
