How can I get transfer credits from language classes at another school?

The Department of Modern Languages must pre-approve transfer credits for language courses. Students can obtain a form from the Registrar’s Office, which must then be signed by the Chair of the department. Students should be aware of the following restrictions on which courses may be approved: • Courses must be from an Accredited Institution of Higher Learning. • Each course must have at least 40 contact hours per semester. Courses with fewer than 40 hours will not be accepted. • Before taking the course, students must provide the Modern Languages department with documentation showing each of the following: • Official course description • Dates and times of the course (minimum of 4 weeks) • Number of contact hours (minimum 40) If the student has passed the equivalent of the 201 level, the language requirement is fulfilled.
