How can I get the Windows EndNote X CWYW commands to appear in Microsoft Word 2000/XP/2003?
Endnote and Word can work well together, but the initial setup is done within each user’s profile. This works fine on personal computers where you are consistently using the same user profile. Problems arise when you are working on a public machine on which profiles are not retained from day to day, as in our labs. If you want to be using the “cite while you write” facility of Endnote while writing in Word, use the following setup when you first begin • Launch Windows Explorer and locate your EndNote folder. The default installation path is “C:\Program Files\EndNote X”. The files are also available in P:\software\Endnote • There are two files in this folder you need to copy (select both files, right-click, select Copy): EN10CWYW.dot EN10Cwyw.WordXP.wll (If you do not see the .wll and .dot file extensions, go to the Tools menu and select Folder Options / View tab.
