How can I get the best possible experience when the placement area has lots of students allocated?
Sometimes you will find that a number of students will be doing placements in a practice area at the same time. In order to get the best possible experience during these times, make sure that you show initiative and let your mentor know that you are keen and willing to learn. Avoid standing around the desk in groups chatting with other students but instead make the most of the learning experiences available on the ward. Students also learn from each other so you may sometimes find it useful to be “buddied” with a senior student or to “buddy” a junior student.
