How can I get secretarial experience?
How are you. You get Secretarial experience through practical. i.e on work job experience which is different from the theoretical aspect you learnt in school. When we were in schools, we were taughtt only the theory which is not what is the real situation when we started work. Secretary job is most interesting and rewarding. It could also be tiring and frustrating depending on the environment you find yourself. You can also get experience by reading widely secretarial books. But the most beautiful experience is the one you get through on the job. I have a small write up titled: SECRETARY: THE ORGANISATION’S HUB. I read secretarial administration. If you want to be versed and excell in the job, you need to be practical, that is just it. While still doing your university degree, don’t depend only on your school teachers, get closer to those who are already in the profession, read widely, and if possible be contacting me and I am ready to give you my own little advice. A lot of people are telling you to get a part time job… but secretary roles are in high demand in most countries, so its unlikely you’re going to get a job as a secretary, unless you’ve got experience. My advice to you, is volunteer for at least a year. And I know volunteering sounds really unattractive, as you don’t get paid for it… but its a couple of hours a week, for experience and a reference.
