How can i get rid of “goat head” stickers?
The puncture(goat head) vine is prolific because its thorn like seed pods are quick to attach themselves to moving objects. They are carried along on shoes or in tires, eventually dropping to the ground. Once they fall, the tiny seeds inside the thorn sit dormant, waiting for just the right conditions for growth. Seeds can remain dormant for up to 20 years. Puncture vine seems to prefer distressed areas such as vacant lots, alleys, sidewalks or bare yards, and thrive in dry, sandy soil or gravel beds. Because the seeds are so hard to kill, a lot of patience is needed to get rid of puncture vine. For small clusters of puncture vine, it’s best to just dig them out. Where they are growing in the lawn, they can be pulled by hand. I usually do it in the early morning when the ground is still wet, which makes the task much easier.
