How can I get rid of ants without using pesticides?
If you can’t live with them, and if they’re ONLY outside, I wouldn’t worry too much about it, but if you can’t live with them, your best bet is going to be to use a bait. Baits have a small amount of pesticide in a container, so it doesn’t go all over the place. The ants take it back to the nest, and voila, the colony is dead. However, make sure you put the bait somewhere where your pets or kids can’t get it. That is a concentrated bit of poison… The other option is diatomaceous earth on the places that you are sitting. It’s like glass sorta and the ants will cut themselves to death (pleasant) if they go on it. However, it gets mixed in with the soil and if it gets wet, it’s useless. You have to reapply it a lot and in some cases it can cause dermitis and problems breathing if you practically inhale it (I’ve seem stupider things which is why I mention that).
