How can I get rid of a yellow jacket nest under siding?
Plain Jane is correct. The Yellow Jackets do not sleep however. They are all inside the nest though after dark. If you get a foam type spray that squirts 10-12 feet you need to spray into the opening for about 10 seconds. There is no need to pull out the siding. The spray that touches the Yellow Jackets will kill them instantly. The foam residue will kill bee’s on contact for up to 48 hours after you initially spray them.Any left that come into contact with the foam will also die. The biggest reason to squirt the nest at night is you will get 98% of the Yellow Jackets and then they will not come back and re-establish another nest in the same place later. Once they are gone fill the hole with spray foam insulation to block the whole or entrance opening up up. These sprays will not harm plastic or fabric patio furniture…..Time to “take” your porch back…..Good Luck!
