Kids go through phases… I never know what my five year old will eat or not. He’s been that way since about age three. One week he hates potatoes, and the next week they’re his favorite food. Just keep doing what you’re doing–give him the vegetables even if you know he’s not going to eat them, and you keep eating yours. He’ll probably come back around eventually. It’s great that he’ll still eat corn and black beans. You could try making those small side dishes at every meal, just so he’s still getting something. But make that a regular part of dinner for everyone–don’t get into the habit of making him something else, because that’s hard to get out of. He gets what everyone is having, and it’s his choice if he eats it or not. If he gets hungry later, just leave his plate out or offer to reheat it. Don’t give him whatever he wants half an hour after dinner. Arguing or bribing will just give him more attention, so don’t make it a big deal. Just make it clear that it’s his choice. It’s
