Tell them that you need one for emergencies. You sound very social, so what happens if you walk, bike, or get dropped off at your house and the door is locked and you have no key. If you had a cell phone you could easily call. Try that, your parents would always want to keep you safe.

Try to think of ways to convince them, and say that you would pay for half the price of the phone. Get creative. I got mine when i was 11, right after i finished 5th grade. And im now 13. but, if they dont, then they dont.
