How can I get my local station to carry Allo Allo?
‘Allo ‘Allo is available for syndication in the US from BBC Worldwide, the international licensing arm of the BBC. They are headquartered in New York, but have offices all over. Although it is available for syndication by any television station, traditionally only Public Television stations in the US have carried British comedies. The BBC America cable channel will sometimes carry British comedy, but so far has never run a series more than four or five years old (and ‘Allo ‘Allo is almsot 15 years old) except for occasional airings of the classic Monty Python series. PBS as a network does not carry British comedy – PBS provides American programming such as Masterpiece Theater and Mystery. But each individual PBS station is free to show whatever other shows they wish during non-PBS hours (just like other networks allow their stations to show whatever reruns or shows they want during non-prime-time hours).
