How can I get involved with animal rights movements?
There are some truly awful practices going on in the world that make me personally sick to my stomach. It’s great that you feel strongly enough to do something about it. However, there are two main philosophies when it comes to improving the lot of animals, these are “animal rights” and “animal welfare”. The Animal Rights (AR) philosophy is centred around the belief that human interaction with animals is morally wrong. That we should not consume meat or dairy, wear fur or leather, own pets, nothing. AR philosophy states that all domesticated animals should become extinct. No cows, sheep, pigs. No dogs (whether working or pet), no cats. “One generation and out.
