There are many ways for grad students to become active members of the campus community. You can become involved in policy and advocacy with special interest groups or join diverse clubs to meet like-minded people. Some positions on the Graduate Students’ Society are elected positions. Anti-Violence Project Native Student’s Union Pride Collective Students of Colour Collective Vancouver Island Public Interest Research Group (VIPIRG) Women’s Centre Clubs There are over 75 different athletic, international and cultural, general interest, political and religious clubs to join on campus. Official club sign-up day takes place twice a year (early September, and mid-January), although most clubs have an open membership and you can contact them any time.
