How can i get house contents insurance when a claim has been turned down and the insurance voided?
Change your insurer. If you have a complaint about the one who voided your insurance, take it to the Insurance Ombudsman. However, if you have tried to raise this matter with the insurers and were rude to a call handler (I nearly lost my rag with one so don’t think I’m being accusatory in this) they do reserve the right to withdraw cover. Remain perfectly calm while you are dealing with the idiot on the other end of the line (who similarly thinks you are one, too) and just remember to a) ask for their name before you enter into any discussion with them; b)if you feel you are beating your head against a brick wall with them, ask to speak to their manager or supervisor – they should be obliged to let you do this; c), threaten to involve the Insurance Ombudsman.
