The easiest thing may be to make the layout in Postscript (option -Tps), then run through Ghostview with antialiasing enabled. The important command line options are -dTextAlphaBits=4 -dGraphicsAlphaBits=4 (4 is the highest level of antialiasing allowed – see the Ghostview documentation).
