How can I get Cable or a Dish Network, Direct TV style cable through my Laptop PC?
Basically all you need is a TV tuner for your laptop. Some higher end ones come with it, but you can always buy external ones(probably cost 50-100 bucks for a mid range one. Once you have that your laptop can basically act like a TV, with the added bonus of being able to record. Assuming you have windows, you can even just use windows media player for TV(though there are better programs if you look around. On a sidenote, what the last poster said about cable only is because with satellite service you would still need a receiver box, just like you would have on any TV with satellite or digital cable. If you already have cable, you can just hook up a cable and get basic cable without a receiver.
